Paul Exton

In memoriam, 2025

Paul Exton

Paul was a Swindon-based artist whose bold geometric paintings and public murals brought vivid colour and dynamic form to everything he touched. Working primarily in acrylic, he developed a signature language of sharp angular planes, perspectival tunnels and fractured shapes rendered in an exuberant, unapologetic palette.

A founder member of Artsite, Paul kept his studio there for many years. His murals can be found across Swindon, each one a gift of colour to the streets and the people who walk them.

Paul passed away in November 2025 at Prospect Hospice, Wroughton, following a diagnosis of liver cancer.

A memorial retrospective, Where Colour Remains, gathers paintings, sculptures and works on paper that remained in his studio. All proceeds are shared equally between Prospect Hospice and Artsite. Opening night 13 June 2026 at The Post Modern, Swindon, as part of the Swindon Arts Fringe Festival.
